In this video I'll explain, based on my knowledge how the upgrade system works with the Blacksmith. Upgrading an item will increase the power of the item. However, you are not guaranteed to get a higher power if you do low difficulty missions.

To get a chance to get higher power, make sure you do higher difficulty missions with higher recommended power. That's what I understand.

You need to do 3 missions and then you'll see an exclamation mark on top fo the Blacksmith head when you come back to the camp.

Then you can retrieve your items. You can use equipped items.

The enchantments are going to be reset and you get back all enchantment points. You can then put them back anywhere you wish. Good use of resetting enchantment points as well, even if your weapon is already fully upgraded in terms of maximum power.
