I am not sure how these worlds are built.
Maybe I'm just not used to these templates for the Windows 10 edition?
I cannot harvest materials, anything I have here was either from the starter chest or by using the console to give myself items.
After getting stuck in some well in the village I was able to enable cheats in this world and use Creative Mode to fly out.
Then in Creative I went underground as you can see here and tried to creative-dig around for caves or really anything.
As you can see, it's flat, just a bunch of rock and then solid diamond beneath.
Which of course would be cool but you can't collect anything!
