The Witch Hut Project.
Thousands upon thousands of Half Slabs covering the surface land and hundreds and thousands of Torches lighting the caves below. It's quite a project and takes more time than DocM thought could have implied. Unless you have help.

It's time for the 1.5 update. That makes this far more automatic now, you no longer have to collect everything manually, so long as you're willing to empty out a chest every so often.
Well, once every few hundred days at this stage anyway.
