Mirror's Edge Catalyst Full Game Walkthrough No Commentary Let´s Play

In Mirror's Edge Catalyst, the player controls Faith Connors as she explores Glass, a future metropolis. Like the original Mirror's Edge, players use urban exploration and parkour to complete quests and avoid attackers. Players can employ zip-lines, ledges, and tools like a MAG Rope and a Disruptor to cross buildings, disrupt systems like huge fans and security cameras, and help Faith fight. Faith's "runner vision" activates when players designate an objective on their map, highlighting red scenic pieces. These direct players toward their goal. The first Mirror's Edge had stages and linear gameplay, while this one offers an open universe. This allows players additional navigational freedom, giving numerous ways to the goal. Time trials, racing, and environmental puzzles supplement the campaign's objective. Players may also acquire GridLeaks worldwide.

As traversal is emphasized in the game, fighting mechanisms were overhauled and a new combat system was created. Mirror's Edge Catalyst also eliminates the player's use of weaponry, emphasizing on Faith's sprinting, parkour, and rapid melee assaults to defeat or avoid her foes. Faith may dodge enemy shots by focusing while running. Sara Jansson, the game's lead producer, says combat and fighting are an extension of mobility. A third-person perspective appears as Faith finishes.

DICE calls Mirror's Edge Catalyst's multiplayer features Social Play. There are no live co-operative multiplayer or side-by-side competitive modes, although asynchronous multiplayer lets players effect other players' games. Unlike the 2008 game, DICE does not pre-define Time Trials. Any player may set checkpoint-to-checkpoint pathways so others can compete against them for quicker speeds. Geocaching-like exploring involves placing Location Emitters for other players to find.

Synopsis, Setting
A totalitarian corporatocracy rules Glass, Cascadia's showpiece metropolis, in the bleak, future RPG. Most Cascadians work for companies and are connected to the Grid, a gigantic social monitoring system that connects everything and everyone in cities like Glass. The companies are covertly planning to launch Reflection, a Grid-based population control project.

Parkour-skilled Runners live on roofs and work clandestine delivery jobs to avoid corporate security. Faith helps other Runners topple the corporate government and end Reflection in the game.

Plot
Faith Connors gets freed from prison and meets fellow runner Icarus and Runner cabal leader Noah, who fostered her after her parents died. Faith defies orders and steals a valuable hard drive, but Gabriel Kruger, CEO of K-Sec, sees her. She escapes to use the drive's contents to repay a black market boss. Faith brings the drive to Plastic, a skilled hacker, who tells her it includes Reflection designs.

K-Sec raids the Runners' hideout and murders everyone, including Noah, while Icarus and Faith are gone. Faith and Icarus, left with nowhere to go, resort to Black November commander Rebecca Thane. Rebels seize Isabel Kruger, daughter of Gabriel Kruger, a top K-Sec leader.

Faith requests that Plastic hack K-Sec systems to learn about Isabel, who is Faith's sister Caitlyn "Cat" Connors, who was presumed dead. Gabriel Kruger adopted her and told her Faith and her family were slain. Faith rushes to Black November HQ where Thane is about to kill Isabel to tell her father. Isabel doesn't remember Faith, but Faith convinces Thane to save her.

Isabel suggests to Faith that Noah may be alive and in a complex. Faith frees Reflection scientists arrested by K-Sec for "asking too many questions." Aline Maera, the chief scientist, says Reflection injects the population with remote-controlled nanites to govern thoughts and emotions. Religion finds Noah being tested with prototype Reflection nanites too late to save him. K-Sec ambushes rebels bringing Isabel above ground at Black November HQ. Icarus and rebels get Reflection nanites.

Plastic and Aline create a virus to deactivate Reflection. Faith sees a big explosion at Glass' highest building, The Shard. Faith climbs The Shard to trigger the virus. Gabriel defends Reflection at the top, arguing the nanites are a remedy for Isabel's severe lung disease and that the project is about survival rather than domination.

Isabel joins them after failing to halt the infection. While fighting on the helipad, Isabel accuses Faith of abandoning her to die, while Faith reminds Isabel of who she is. Gabriel Kruger asks hesitant Isabel to join him on a helicopter. Gabriel escapes the chopper as the Shard collapses. Isabel catches Faith as she slips off the helipad. Isabel tells Faith she "has to" and hurries toward Gabriel as he begs for help. Isabel is alone in the chopper as it takes off, leaving Gabriel behind.
