In this film, Ethan Hunt is tasked with stopping Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott), a former IMF agent who has stolen a deadly biological weapon known as "Chimera." To do so, Ethan recruits expert thief Nyah Nordoff-Hall (Thandiwe Newton) to infiltrate Ambrose’s operation—only for personal stakes to complicate the mission. Featuring breathtaking motorcycle chases, elaborate shootouts, and Woo’s signature doves, this film is a bold departure from the first movie’s spy-thriller tone.
Upon release in 2000, Mission: Impossible 2 was a box office hit, becoming the highest-grossing film of the year.
