MiSTer (FPGA): Connected to TV via Composite
I did this just for the fun of it and out of curiosity.
Radioshack converter:
https://www.radioshack.com/products/hdmi-to-composite-rca-converter-adapter
MiSTer connected to my Sharp 27F630 4:3 CRT via RadioShack HDMI to Composite converter.
Converts Digital HDMI to Analog
- RCA output (red, white, yellow)
- No external power source required
Video and sound are decent for RCA. The video is stretched and causes some of the borders to be cropped off the screen. I'm not sure if this can be adjusted.
***Update: I went into the TV's service menu and adjusted VSIZE (D03) and HSIZE (D04) to adjust the overscan. This corrected the overscan but caused a slight bowing effect (I think that's what it's called) on the left and right side of the screen.
I'm using video_mode=6 in the mister.ini
6 - 640x480@60
Later I discovered video_mode=2 looks better on my TV.
2 - 720x480@60
[MiSTer.ini]
forced_scandoubler=0
composite_sync=0
vga_scaler=0
YPbPr=0
direct_video=0
SOG Switch - N/A (on or off didn't make a difference)
