We reached Rank 2 in the Undernet but if you are wondering, who is Rank 1? Simple. S. Or rather, Serenade, the King of the Undernet. Eventually we do get our hands on an item known as the GigaFreeze, a forbidden program capable of stopping Bass. But then we get a bombshell. The Undernet was created by Mamoru's father. Surprising isn't it? But wait, it gets worse.
World 3 has struck. Having obtained all four TetraCodes, Wily orders DrillMan to obtain the Alpha Program. Guess where it's at? At SciLab. Not good. By the time Lan and Mega reach it, they're too late. DrillMan has obtained the Alpha Program and fled into Undernet. So they catch up to him. A battle ensues and let me tell you, DrillMan is annoying. Unless you have chips that can hit him, you are in for a struggle. Having BreakCharge can work but if you are in Guts Style, BreakShot can be very helpful. Take advantage of using Program Advances or powerful chips cause you'll need it.
DrillMan is defeated but then Bass shows up. Lan and Megaman use the GigaFreeze program... only to fail. Bass absorbs it making things more dire. He also gets Alpha but lets Megaman live since he finds him interesting. With Wily obtaining the Alpha program, he's all set to bring ruin to the Net Society. He gathers his operators to initiate his endgame.
The following day, Lan experiences a dream where he sees Megaman head off. He heads outside only to find that the Army has ordered everyone to stay home. Lan has Megaman head to cyberspace to get an Official Pass. With it, he's able to head to SciLab. He arrives in SciLab only to learn that Wily has openly declared war on the entire world. A meeting is called in regards to Alpha. It's then they learn what Alpha really is. SciLab was responsible for creating Alpha 10 years ago. It was the original form for the Internet but things went wrong. Very wrong. They blamed it on some fellow over something called the AutoNavi. An incident happened not long after. Alpha destroyed all machines connected to it. It became self aware, Alpha then absorbs all manner of programming. All it took was a week to absorb everything only for SciLab to capture it. It was referred to as the Alpha Revolt.
For six months, everything has stopped but with Wily in possession of Alpha, nothing can stop it. Nothing. But then the AutoTanks start going berserk forcing all Net Operators to stop them. Lan and Mega were able to shut down one of the tanks. They then head to the hospital only to find his dad having left not taking his medication. He takes the meds and heads back to SciLab.
His dad, Hikari Yuichiro tells him everything regarding Alpha. But he has his own reasons for doing this. He hopes to use it to reach WWW's Base. But then he learns that the man responsible for creating Alpha was Hikari Tadashi. Hikari Tadashi is Lan's grandfather and he was responsible for creating Alpha along with a program called Guardian. Guardian is holding back Alpha but with Wily in possession of Alpha, things can get worse.
So Yuichiro tells Lan where World 3's Base is at, the Demon Waters. But they need a powerful engine in order to reach it. Lan tries to convince Yai to help but he can't tell her why. It gets her annoyed but eventually they learn what Lan's really doing.
Lan's friends come in hoping to help. So Lan, Chaud, Dex and Tora head off to the Demon's Waters. The endgame is near. Part 15 is where we invade World 3's base!
One more thing. Wily was able to free all the operators, save for one. Inukai was disposed of. Saito, Sunayama, Anette and Mr. Match all pledge their loyalty to Wily. That's messed up.
