I personally think having separate servers, such as in World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV, is a relic of the past. Being able to play other’s is one of the best things about an MMO. Matter of fact, games like SWToR can’t do crossplay servers because the Hero Engine is so outdated and underwhelming.
