Growing up in the early and mid 2000s, I remember waking up every Sunday and playing some of my absolute favorite games. Super Mario Sunshine, Batman Arkham Asylum, Grand Theft Auto 4 and many, many more. It just felt like every year we were blessed with masterpiece after masterpiece and we were truly in the golden age of video games. The Og’s before me grew up on Super Mario Sunshine, Goldeneye 007, Crash Bandicoot and countless others. Of course as I started coming into my own I went back and played these great games that my older cousins would tell me about, and I kept gaming as much as I could even today into my adult life as a 24 year old. While to this day there are still some amazing games that comes out like legend of Zelda and Spiderman, it felt like as I got older the number of quality games coming out each year started to dwindle as more and more video game developers started focusing on a games graphics and microtransactions as opposed to putting out a great and impactful game that players will love for generations to come.
