UPDATE:- After analysing more images I am now inclined to say the Performance mode and possibly graphics mode also uses a form or Checker-boarding within the rendering pipeline.

Thanks to the current beta on PSN until the 12th December I am able to take a look at what this MT Framework powered title has in store for us.
