July's Monthly TIP (which stands for "Thing I've Played") is in memory of Satoru Iwata. He did so many good things for Nintendo and for gamers.

I've beaten Mario 2 and 3 as a kid (with help from Game Genie. . . which you'd swear I had a product placement deal with, the number of times I mention it), but never actually beat 1 or Lost Levels. Aaaaand I probably never will, lol.

I didn't have an SNES as a kid - just played my cousin's, so I never had All-Stars. I'm still not sure how to feel about the 16-bit upgrade to all the games. It feels right and wrong at the same time. The sound effects especially throw me off. Still, I'm glad I own this game now on the Wii, snazzy box and all.

I know I said I'd be back on track and on-time with this TIP. . . and the video was technically done in July, but I had some internet problems so it didn't upload in time, sorry. I move at the end of August, so we'll see how that video goes, lol.
