So, instead of losing your gear once at the beginning of each game, you lose it multiple times...that is, if you try to go through the Pools to different realms without banking 99% of your items that get destroyed for being too powerful (or not powerful enough). It does feel empowering making one of the most powerful wizards in Forgotten Realms be your item caddy though.
And now, their AC can go down to -11. Yikes.
