Mortal Shell offers a compelling and unique souls-borne experience in a condensed, less intimidating package. Making it a great place for newbies to jump into the genre while also offering veterans a quick fix with enough fresh ideas to slice into. And with a first play-through being a brisk 15-20 hours, new game plus and experimenting with the unique shells and weapons becomes even more tantalizing. While It may lack scope, Mortal Shell satisfyingly lays the foundation for something special.
