85In Mousesteps Weekly #336, we share a part of the Walt Disney World Resort Showcase event we were invited to, which included about 10 resorts and 8 restaurants.
Disney invited us to Disney's Riviera Resort, the newest resort (and newest Disney Vacation Club resort) as our base for the event. We share a detailed look at the 1 bedroom villa, including pull-down beds.
Our dinner that night was at the new Topolino's Terrace atop the resort, where we have enjoyed the character breakfast (which we experienced again this trip).
We took a ride on the Disney Skyliner several times to Epcot during this visit, including to see Impressions de France. The film is currently only running in the evenings.
Breakfast the next morning was at Ale & Compass at Disney's Yacht Club Resort. We reviewed this maybe a year or so ago, and the experience was different this time (mostly due to entree choice). This is definitely a must-do for us again to order the skirt steak entree with buffet!
Next, we visit a turret suite at Disney's Yacht Club Resort. The suite is beautiful and features 2 bedrooms. Following that, we head to Beaches and Cream for a quick stop and then Stormalong Bay. It was cold out that day so nobody was yet in the pool.
We then head to Seaside Retreat at Disney's Beach Club Resort to learn about Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew, which is priced at $55 (plus tax) per child. It is offered each night for children ages 4-12. This is where the former Sandcastle Club was.
Our next resort is Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground, where we tour a cabin and also the Meadows pool.
Our last resort this week is Disney's Wilderness Lodge, where we tour a Deluxe Studio and dine at Whispering Canyon Cafe for lunch. This is a terrific lunch experience! What we didn't mention was that the servers do play along with guests - it is an interactive experience, for some more than others. The food is great.
Our last stop is Epcot to check out a little on the construction! Each day is a new adventure.
