Mushihimesama's DLC mode, Version 1.5, lets you start the game at max power at the cost of enemies attacking more often. Obviously, it made the game PRETTY HARD.
Not sure if this is true in Mushihimesama, but in some CAVE games, playing on the 2P side increases difficulty since it thinks two players are playing at once.
Ironically, despite this major change in difficulty, I still got a game over where I usually do in Ver 1.0 Maniac. Weird.
