Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, is a tactical strategy game with character progression, essentially the same as XCOM, however where it deviates is where things get interesting. Members of your squad are irreplaceable and have distinct personalities. Instead being purely turn-based strategy, you start off in realtime, going into turn-based combat only if discovered by enemies. This allows more ambushes, clever tactics and stealthy retreats. A fascinating, and dare I say much improved, version of other tactical strategy games.
