My Dad's Windows XP Computer Is 7 Or 8 Years Old And It's Still Fast?!

update October 14th 2012: My Dad's computer computer crashed (Blue Screen Of Death) from failure. I noticed that when I turned on his computer. That was the very first time I ever seen the blue screen myself. But, good news about his computer is that he was able to fix the failure.
May 3 2013:
The computer is starting to die so my dad unplugged it and it is REALLY slowing down pretty badly. Well... believe me, my computer is worse because mine crashes and freezes 1-2 times a day I have never went a day without a crash on my computer. My hard is easily damaged for many reasons, moving it, picking it up, punching it, force a shutdown once (holding down the power button instead of giving your computer some time to shutdown by pressing the power button once. Holding down the power button can sometimes do that)
