My Dauntless Review
This is all it is, oh, and if you try parties, its worse connections, plus your rewards and quests will not save, like we killed a shrike 3 times in a party for a quest, and it never counted, then we fought it solo, and it finally worked
-------------------------------------
also, the games behemoths could use a bit of tweaks and balancing
1: The electric quill guys, shock bubble quills could have their health reduced a bit
it seems a bit taxing, but i just think they need their base health tweak down by maybe 30%
2: the rock armor lizards that spin, it would be nice if the players could roll out of its pull
right now rolling does nothing, and there is no real way to dodge it except to be far off
maybe if a player can out roll the spin it would allow them to escape its pull
plus they kinda should have their base health reduced by 5-8%
3: all behemoths should have a exhaust window and stamina bar
by moving and attacking and being aggressive they would use up the stamina they have
when it runs out they hit an exhaustion mode and sit still, open to attacks
then players can hit them, they are in this until the stamina refills to 100% and they attack again
for enemies like the embermane it would really help
he needs a cooldown as he never seems to stop moving
4: maybe add a bit of stun mechanics to head hits = Trauma meter
the more hits to the head, when it is full it stuns the behemoth for a bit of time
it has regressive returns though and takes longer to trauma + for shorter periods
maybe add minor fauna enemies on the side players could kill and harvest for side heals
killing side fauna would make them drop healing orbs to heal players other than just the 5 potions
-I also had some ideas for 2 class designs-
maybe as well if behemoths had aggro and would single out targets with highest aggro
a player who does the most damage or procs a status effect draws more aggro then a lower player, such as a new player doing little damage will not be as high a target as a high ranking player that does more damage.
Class 1: A shield user, basically a tall tower shield weapon that can be attacked with
it has multiple combos, power 1 is a charge, where the player rushes at the behemoth and slams the shield into them, Square button on ps4, triangle button, tosses the shield, it spins horizontally in place and deals about 5 hits to the behemoth in its spin then returns to the player, and for the third power R1 on ps4, you slam the shield into the ground and block with it providing a damage reduction to yourself of up to 50%, and taunts the behemoths attention onto you. this makes it ignore the other players and it will attack only you, this taunt has a high aggro rating.
Class 2: Nunchuck/Staff wielder
Pressing R1, its third power, changes it back and forth from nunchucks to staff.
Nunchucks are faster and attack with a flurry of combos
The staff is slower, but has more impact, trauma chance to stun, and aura buffs. more range
in nunchuck mode its two powers are combo attacks, power 1 with nunchucks launches you into the air to dodge attacks and you come crashing down with a slam, power 2 is a shadow step dodge that teleports you forward, you can dash through the behemoth, you deal damage to it with this attack, but are invincible, a shadow. switching with R1 you slam both nunchucks together and it creates the 2nd form, the staff, which has the main focus of support buffs, has two main things.
first is its main power, a big aura bubble that provides boosts for the whole team.
the Square button, tap to pound the ground with the staff and make a bubble, that can do different things based on which one you are using. it can make a healing aura that heals over time, a damage boost aura, speed boost, damage reduction or other things. mostly healing was the concept of its first power. it second power is a powerful charged attack, which spins the staff hitting multiple times and has a high trauma chance to stun the behemoths for a bit. i could really imagine a ton of combos with it.
also what if players could catch pets? and use them in solo or duo hunts.
if you play solo you can use your pet in combat
or if you and a friend team up in the fight, you can both use your pet
3 -4 player disables the pet, but 1-2 player enables it.
every behemoth has a chance to drop a rare unique pet.
the hunt pass has pets to
and minor fauna can be added that could be caught as pets as well
pets attack and offer support of other kinds but can also get aggro from behemoths solo.
pets are unkillable but if injured retreat for 60 seconds and return.
