My Favorite Game of All Time - Remnant: From the Ashes
My Favourite Game of All Time - Remnant From The Ashes. With the release of Remnant 2 (@RemnantGame ) approaching next month, I wanted to make a short tribute video to a game I absolutely loved - one which quickly became my favourite of all time. Details below.
As I've said before in the past, titles and videos like this are something you'll rarely ever see from me. It is only in the rare case that I think a game is truly worthy of it, that I'll make a dedicated video or title in such a manner. This is a game that I cannot rate highly enough. The video includes clips from my overall Apolcalyse playthrough, defeating all of the bosses and encounters no damage. That video can be found here: https://youtu.be/lwMooz2F2l0
It very much went under the radar, and even I was a whole year late to actually discovering it. Once I did though, I absolutely loved it. It's mostly referred to "Dark Souls with Guns", and while that's a somewhat accurate description, I'd say it's much more than that.
The combat is both challenging and engaging, and there's a multitude of different builds, weapons, bosses and playstyles you can adapt. There's so many different skills you can progress in the game, that even after so many hours you'll still be able to progress more. The gunplay feels great, which is something I feel a lot of games tend to get wrong these days. Each playthrough will also be unique, as other than a few set encounters and the world order, the game is randomised with the bosses and zones you'll face. It makes for a very fresh and rewarding experience each time, with loads of content to sink into.
Challenge-wise, it's incredible. While the lower difficulties aren't too bad, and you also have the option of co-op, when you step it up to Apocalyse difficulty it can be brutal. There's enough enemy and boss variety to constantly keep you on your toes, and a lot of the bosses feel very rewarding to overcome. So if you're looking for a challenge, this is definitely up your alley. If not, the lower difficulties and co-op options will also be good for you.
Overall I can't really give this game enough justice through a short video alone, but I hope it did a good job of quickly showing some of the variety, gameplay and bosses you can encounter in this game. There's so much more the game has to offer though, and a lot of that I cannot convey through words or video alone.
Remnant 2 will be releasing next month on July 25, which is my most anticipated game of the year by far. I'll be covering it extensively on the channel when it does release. You can find more info here: https://www.remnantgame.com/en/
The song used is also from in-game, as part of the theme of Rhom and some of the bosses on there.
