My First New York Mets Game at Citi Field - Christopher Morel Homers off Edwin Diaz
I went to Citi Field for the 1st time On April 29, 2024 to Watch the New York Mets take on the Chicago Cubs. This was the first time I recall ever seeing the Mets play at least this was the first time this team was ever on this channel.
I got to the stadium and entered 90 minutes before 1st pitch and watched the Cubs take Batting Practice and tried to get a home run ball. Zack Hample was actually at that game and during BP he caught 3 balls while I ended up with goose eggs.
During the game Brandon Nimmo hits a solo home run to give the Mets an early 1-0 lead. No team scored any runs until the top of the 8th inning where Michael Busch scores after the Mets failed to turn a double play that would have ended the inning with them in the lead.
The Game was tied 1-1 going into the top of the 9th inning and Edwin Diaz came into the game to try to keep the game tied. Unfortunately, Diaz gave up a 2-run home run to Christopher Morel which landed on the other side of my section. This gave the Cubs a 3 to 1 lead and that was the final score.
