Two millenia ago, a demon rose up, fought against his brethren, sealed them all away in another world, and lived life peacefully. He settled down with a human and started a family, he had two sons. The demon eventually passed on (really not clear on the details) and eventually evil claimed the mother and one of the brothers (again, not really clear kinda fuzzy), leaving a lone child, Dante who has become an extraordinary demon slayer, even opening his own business. One day a mysterious woman arrives to tell him of something intriguing the demon lord Mundus, the one responsible for all that fell onto the family, was attempting to force his way into the human world on Mallet Island, Dante was skeptical but the woman looked just like his mother (a pointless plot point) so he chose to follow her.

I ADORE this game. One of my all time favorites, but it's story telling is poor alot of the time.

Devil May Cry is available on Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Windows, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
