Just picked up my very first mechanical keyboard yesterday and BestBuy and also got myself a nice gaming mouse. The timing for this sudden splurge happened when I spilled some pop on my main keyboard that I've had for over the past 2 years and one of the keys became much less responsive. At around the same time the accompanying mouse scroll wheel click stopped working and the sensor would sometimes freeze up.
This would've been fine since I have 2 sets of those peripherials, however next week I start classes and will be staying on campus while my labs are going on, meaning I would need a keyboard/mouse at the residence I am staying at if I didn't want to have to move my gear back and forth every week. I could've gone with the same pair of keyboard and mouse but decided that since in less than 1 year I will graduate from college, that I would treat myself to a nice keyboard that will last me for years to come!
