The crystals sprouting from his back have the same texture, so that must mean it formed naturally around his head. But surprisingly, the answer is no. See, Spijem found an exact copy of the crystal material that forms inside his body, and used them to make a mask-like object around his head. Problem is, he can’t get it off.
