My Youtube Channel Was DELETED At 100K subscribers..
162My channel, that just reached 100.000 subscribers, got hacked and deleted! In this video I will be explaining the hijack, unboxing my playbutton and talking about the future of the channel.
Everything that happened leading up to the hijack and how my channel got restored:
13th of January: I got logged out of my Youtube account, the name was changed to BRAND ACCOUNT, my profile picture was deleted. Later I found out that on the same date I fell for a phishing Email, through which they got my login information. A channel called “Zena Dawson” was made co-owner of my now brand account Youtube channel.
14th of January: My ownership of the channel was removed. I found out about a suspicious login from Luton, UK. I came to know about a lot of similar cases like this one on the Youtube help forums.
16th of January: All the information was transferred to an internal team at Youtube. I got 11 Emails from the hijacker forcing me to pay $ 1200,- in bitcoin, which I didn’t do ofcourse. My channel therefore got deleted.
23th of January: Some good news, a different team at Youtube managed to get me a code to claim my playbutton! No news about the hack however...
9th of February: Still no news about the hijack and when I’d get the channel back. This is the date of recording of the playbutton-unboxing.
11th of February: The Youtube team has successfully transferred the channel back to me.
