MyArcade Pocket Player: Dig Dug - Console Demonstration (Live)
While the entirety of Ireland was dealing with the power outage for three days as a result of Storm ISHA, I needed to find something to do to keep my sanity in check. While I didn't have much power left on the phone and there wasn't much light sources to use, I thought I'd take the oppoturnity to do a demonstration of a handheld console. And this is the MyArcade Pocket Player: Dig Dug.
I already reviewed this device on InfiniteBacklog (which you can see in the link below), which I was surprised by the actual quality of the unit and the emulation. But since there is no way to change the screen brightness, it was kinda tricky to get a more clear image while recording.
The handheld contains the following games: Dig Dug, Dig Dug II and The Tower of Druaga. All of these are Famicom ports, as is often the case with MyArcade's Pocket Player line, but at least they are running well.
While you could get the same versions through Namco Museum Collections 1 and 2 for the Evercade and Namco Museum Archives Vol.1 and 2 via Steam, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, for a retro gaming gift, you could do a lot worse. Plus, the Namco Museum Evercade carts are Legacy carts, thus they are no longer in active production. And in all fairness, it came out a year before both Evercade and Namco Museum Archives, so it wasn't too bad of a novelty.
