I'm using the Mysteries of the Sith Remastered mod and the lightning seems to make the game crash

In level 8 there is a room with a gonk droid in an electrocution device. You use a console next to it to activate the lightning bolts. For some reason the game doesn't crash at all. It's not in the video but in the same level, as you approach a large electrified pool the game crashes. I don't think the lightning "loads" until you cross a certain certain trigger point on the staircase. That's when it crashes.
