Seems the Black Ship Gang had another ship. Time to board it.
Okay, so, I have quite a story with this stage:
I actually had to retry this stage a number of times. In the end though, it ended up just because of me and not the game itself. I was really struggling with the first minigame, until I finally realized that I was going about it wrong (least in my case). I then finally put some sort of strategy into beating it, until I finally was able to beat it consistently. Granted, I didn't beat the other two required minigames in this stage in one try, but they took only very few attempts in comparison before I beat those.
There's nothing important to really look for in this stage, unless you want to pack on free Shurikens.
You will run into Bosses you have defeated before on the way through the stage. However, instead of fighting them, they will all challenge you to a minigame instead. Losing any of these minigames will result in a gameover, with the exception of a optional minigame you can find here.
The first minigame is a game of Concentration. All you need to do is match all the cards to win this minigame. However, you will lose if you miss 6 times. The only advice I have to give is, come up with a strategy that will help you memorize the cards, and hope you have a better memory than I do.
The second minigame is face-matching. You have to match all the panels with the target before time runs out. Just hope you have some quick thinking while doing this. The moment the minigame gives before it starts could be a opportunity to plan ahead.
Monjiro can be found on the way, who will challenge you to the arrow-firing duel you might be familiar with now if you talk to him. It is optional to do this, and you will not get a game over if you lose this.
The final minigame is Octopus Whacking. You need to whack the octopi as they come out of their jars, and beat the minimum score within the time limit to win. All the jars correspond to the Game Boy buttons. Be sure to watch out for the squids, as they take away a point if you hit them. Only advice I have here is hope that you have fast fingers, and have all the buttons memorized along with it.
If you have too much trouble with this stage, you could try using the password at the end of this video to skip it, but you might be starting the next stage on my own progress.
