Black Silhouette Records is delighted to celebrate Michael Myers’s favourite month with our first ever remix made by Ombrar.
Ombrar’s remix of the brilliant album opening track Apex Predator - Easy Meat from Grindcore/DeathMetal UK band Napalm Death is a fierce industrial techno version of the track that doesn’t corrupt the original one.
Ombrar had the idea of remixing this track after discovering it during a live broadcast of the band, and most importantly after being very inspired by it’s guttural vocals.
This EP also features two original tracks.
So track 2, The Shepherd Came To The Tree To Seek Mercy is really focused on percussion of all sorts. Percussions made with some samples, some modular percs triggered by the Zularic Repetitor and some real percussions recorded (shakers, snare, toms, guiro..ect) as well.
His cheap electric guitar was used to write the main “melody” alongside some modular synth to add a bit more.
As per usual with Ombrar, the track is filled with details, which includes a lot of his beloved
field recordings.
The last track, Lunch Time In The Mariana Trench, was made entirely on Ombrar’s modular system. You will surely feel like you're inside a submarine descending into the abyss surrounded by god knows what...Cthulhu...?
