Narrated Wi-Fi Battle 29 iamthetie vs Dangerous36M [KwandaoRen66 tourney, Final Four]
Hey guys. Rik is pro. Here are some thoughts I had during the match. It was longer but YT won't let me save it when it's long:
prematch: This match is being livestreamed and I can hear Wile and E-Lo and Blak. Whoa dang. E-Lo told Rik to be careful since he knew I put a lot of thought into this team. I'm honored. Rik has never seen Back To The Future? I feel bad for him.
match: Early game I'm playing obvious, but I have to scout and he could potentially KO me at every point if I overpredict. His team seems really bulky so this is going to be a slugfest. Jolteon hates me and I can't believe his entire team eats Spec'd Jolteon for breakfast. I don't even know why I bring frail sweepers sometimes, I always get them killed.
Man, his team is bulky AND fast. How is everyone still faster than Metagross with a Choice Scarf? I actually have speed EVs in this guy...
Wow, Rik must be tired because switching in Ape on the Meteor Mash could have cost him the game. HOW COULD YOU MISS TWICE IN A ROW!? I love you MM and imma let you finish, but you do know that Rik is one of the best players on YT, right? At least hit the Ape...
Please bobble Ape again...
Why did I put rest on Celebi again? I remember there was a good reason when I planned out this team but the forced switch is going to bite me on the ass. If I don't heal up soon I'm pretty screwed though. This poison is a real drag
post-game: hell of a match. Rik is every bit as good as I thought he would be. I knew that Ape was destined to be my undoing if I couldn't damage or status it and I was spot on. Probably shouldn't have let him kill Milotic late game. The match would have dragged out longer, but he was a mistake away from giving me another opening to steal the match, and you should never give up on a match. Going for the HP fire on Celebi was waving the white flag. T-Wave would have been playing for the win on the over-aggression, wheras HP fire was just giving him the free switch into Ape to win the match. Longshot was long but you have to go big or go home.
Probably should have Shadow Balled first turn with Jolteon since Bronzong's ability to wall Metagross and Flygon was so important to his defenses. Hindsight is 20-20 though.
