NASA's James Webb telescope has detected a carbon molecule in space for the first time.
Methyl Cation was detected in a young star system, with a protoplanetary disk known as d203-506, located approximately 1.350 light-years away in the Orion Nebula
said Marie Aline Martin Drumel, a member of the science team at the University of Paris-Saclay in France
but also confirms the presumed central importance of CH3+ methyl cation in interstellar chemistry
