Although the Nets had fought back to 1 game over .500 after their dreadful 0-3 start to the season, many were wondering how good they really were going to be. They hadn't beaten any of the early season elite teams and was embarrassed when they lost to the 2nd place Pacers, but they may have just come off of their most meaningful win of the season when they defeated the then 2 seeded, 1 loss Portland Blazers, 102-97. In a game that they never trailed in, the Brooklyn Nets were better offensively than they have been all year. "We played a lot of great individual defense. It was so close because of the 18 2nd chance points but looking at how our set offense and set defense played, we were pretty good," said Reggie Evans. The Blazers, maybe they best perimeter defense in the NBA, only allowed 6 total three point attempts, they didn't need the three ball in this one. 23 of the Blazers' 26 points came from under the basket, so it was the Nets perimeter defense that proved to be the best, at least for tonight. The Nets had 6 players in double figures, led by Brook Lopez' 15 pts, 7 reb, and 4 ast vs his twin brother. The Nets are at 6-4. Will they continue their hot streak?
