11 Minutes Nba Jam Tournament Edition gameplay for Sega Genesis

About the Game :

NBA JAM Tournament Edition brings you more senses-shattering slam dunking excitement than ever! More than twice as many NBA TE superstars, more than double the secret characters, Hot Spots, Super Jam Power-Ups and -OH MY- nine all-new rim-rattling slam dunks plus all the original jams!

The game plays identically to its predecessor, with some additions. It is a two-on-two basketball game with loose rules and exaggerated realism. Team rosters have been updated and now have three selectable players for each team (comprising 25% of the NBA roster). Players can now choose the same team. The game optionally includes power-ups that appear on the court and temporarily enhance the player's abilities, a "Juice Mode" that boosts the speed of the players, and "Hot Spots" that give higher points and allow special dunks if shooting or dunking while touching them. The game also has a Computer Assistance feature enabled by default that increases the precision of the losing team's shots to ensure a more competitive game. There is a Tournament Mode that disables power-ups, cheats, Computer Assistance, and the other special options.

Games consist of four quarters; each quarter is three minutes long. Players are moved around the court with the D-Pad. Players have a turbo meter that increases their running speed by holding B. The turbo meter is depleted as it is used, but it quickly recharges when it is not used.

Team members are now injured each time they are pushed down. Injured players move more slowly. The injury status of each team member is shown with the player statistics at the end of each quarter, and players can substitute team members after each quarter. Benched players recover from their injuries by the next quarter.

The 16-bit and 32-bit versions of the game support up to four players simultaneously, and the Game Gear version supports two players (with a Gear-to-Gear Cable). In one- and two-player games, players control one member of their respective teams and have AI-controlled teammates. The game can automatically switch control to whichever team member has the ball by enabling Tag Mode in the options.

If players enter their initials before starting a game, the game keeps track of their progress (using a battery backup on the Mega Drive and 32X, the console's internal memory on the Saturn, and passwords on the Game Gear). Defeating all 27 NBA teams plays an ending with credits and unlocks an expanded roster with two additional players per team.
