This video is a quick tutorial for beginner players in Need for Speed: Heat showing how to switch between day and night modes. Certain events can only be done in either day or night mode, so learning how to switch between them is necessary. I found that it wasn't clear to me so I'm assuming other players are also having the same issue.

Contrary to intuition, the process of switching from day to night and night to day is actually different. To switch from day to night - go to the map, hover over the night option, and you have to press an additional button to trigger this change. You can't just exit out of the map. You can find the additional button on the bottom left of the interface.

To switch from night to day, you actually can't do it in the map. You have to go to the garage or safe house. If I had to guess why this is - it might be because they want you to work for keeping your rep points. Otherwise, people will just switch immediately to day time to bank their rep points while in a bad situation. Hope this helps!
