Need For Speed: High Stakes (PS1) - Playthrough - Knockout Redux With The Phantom
In this video i race with the NFS Bonus car Phantom on the Knockout Challenge event. The Phantom is a outstanding car to drive, while the handling stat says its almost maxed, it cant corner as well as the F1 or the CLK however... the car has perfect handling as in no oversteer or massive understeer. It also has a amazing acceleration and top speed beyond what its stats are showing. This makes the Phantom the best high powered car that is extremely easy to drive ( people back in the day would say its handling sucks but its they who suck XD) and it also has outstanding brakes. This car feels like it has a high RPM turbo as it does behave in a way that simulates turbo lag, because of this the usual way that i launch the cars in the game is not the best on dry road, the best way is just to start a 0 rpm so theres no wheelspin and can still capitalize on the power as launching at max RPM and immediately going into 2nd loses alot of momentum in this car on dry road. For some odd reason when you race with the Phantom, some sound effects like tire screeching, crashing sounds and the like actually get muffled during the race for a while and then come back eventually and only happens to Phantom alone ( this happened on a actual ps1 as well so its not a emulation glitch).
