Before we jump into Stage 3 I decided to take a different approach to doing the World Map events versus my old playthrough. Instead of leaving them to the very end of the game I decided to do them as I work through the game. Essentially, since we completed every possible race while working through the stage, these world map events constitute the other sponsor events from the sponsors we didn't pick.
Full Disclosure, I took advantage of the "bug" that allows you to earn bank and reputation points if you restart the event after it loads up. The extra bank will come in handy in Stage 3, as this part of the game is where the in-game economy is tightest.
