Need for Speed Underground 2: Still Amazing in 2024
48So I decided to revisit Need for Speed Underground 2 in 2024. And my opinion hasn't really changed that much. It's still one of my favourite racing games of all time and is a blast
to cruise in. But the mandatory visual customization and the repetitive and tedious career progression is something that doesn't hold up that well compared to the first game, as well as later titles. But since I've already beaten this game multiple times, I can pretty much do whatever in the game and that for me makes it more replayable than the first Underground. Mods also enhance the game and fix mistakes from the vanilla version, making for an even better game in my opinion. URL races are also a slog and I still don't like drag racing that much and only do it when I have to for the sponsor contracts in the career mode.
There is still some nostalgia smell with this game. But 20 years later, it's still one of the most highly regarded games in the series and there are good reasons for it.

- Used the wrong rims on the white 350Z. Guess my memory isn't perfect.
- Career would of been better if you could repeat races to grind out money to buy more shit.
- I have a review in the description from a year ago. But the audio and my enthusiasm levels aren't the best in that video.
