A battery holder is installed where the original rechargeable battery would been so that it can accept your standard coin-cell battery CR2032. Of course mine is slightly too small to reach the legs comfortably so we make it work! Then the 470ohm resistor nearby is removed so that the board does not try to recharge this battery.
