This is Neo Sonic Universe. A beutifully made, fanbased gamed, based on everything that was used in the Sonic Advance games for the GBA. made by the name of the person that you see at the very beginning of the video.
This game has somewhat hard controls for a freeware PC Game, so it's hard to jump or move sometimes. but this makes it a whole lot better, beause it's going by physics of the game in general.

You can play with the other characters once you've played through the game long enough. So it's more or less like a stage or time release based unlock system.

Anything a boss can throw at you, can most likely kill you in one hit, regardless of how many rings you have. so don't get pissed off, nor supprised to see that happen in the video. Or to you when it does happen. Also, to further continue this notation, the game stops when you're about to fight a boss. Mainly saying, when you get to the boss, it will take it's time, and load up what's needed to get the boss fight started.
