0Castlevania is a side-scrolling action game developed and published by Konami for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986. In the game, the player takes on the role of Simon Belmont, a vampire hunter who must defeat the evil Count Dracula and his minions in order to save the land of Transylvania. Simon is armed with a whip, which he can use to attack enemies and swing from certain objects in the game. Along the way, Simon can collect various power-ups to help him in his quest, such as hearts which he can use to power his sub-weapons, as well as health items to restore his health. Castlevania is known for its challenging gameplay, haunting soundtrack, and gothic horror aesthetic, and has since become a beloved classic of the NES library.
