My main goal was simply to beat Tom Votava's score here so that I could show people how it was done. I did this as a response to a comment concerning the points record by youtube user Shasta Rose. A special thanks to retroshinobi for conversing with me concerning the man with the machine gun.

197,910 (39,000) 3.2 Red Cave
237,570 (39,660) 3.3 Blue Cave
273,420 (35,850) 3.4 Mountain Side
316,980 (43,560) 4.1 Temple Sack #1

480,050 (41,180) 4.3 Palace (Final)

General Comments:
The goal is to use the headbutt as much as possible because it yields 700 points, the highest amount scored for attacking an enemy. The danger lies in the fact that most of the time you will get hit in the face by a Linda, William, or Rouper. The Chins and Abobo can be done fairly safely by staying close to them since their reach is further and they do not jumpkick. The danger is that you life will take hits from punches and jumpkicks. So it is important to work out a strategy where you will have life when you need it.

500k is definitely possible with quicker/riskier approach to the chins and abobo. In this run I took a more conservative approach by taking out the 2nd abobo when there are two, and working slowly on the chins.

Mission 1:
The only key here is the Linda at the top of the stairs and the Abobo. I wait for the Linda and maneuver her into the side at the top of the stairs. If you are close enough you will miss with the uppercut once she straightens up again. This is important otherwise an early input will knock her down as you see I mistakenly do with the Chin on Mission 2. I punch her until about 65 seconds and then finish her off with a headbutt. The abobo takes 14 headbutts and then I do kicks to burn off the clock.

Mission 2:
I want to get through the Roupers and Williams with some life intact because one jumpkick when all the life bars are gone and you will die. The Linda and Chin do not jump kick so they are relatively safe. The Chin gets 13 headbutts and then I maneuver him to the edge and punch him with 4 punches in a row. I have to pause long enough after the stunned animation to avoid the uppercut because it wastes time, and if I am too far away it will knock him down as I do here.

Mission 3:
I decided to do the Chins one at a time but sometimes the second will spawn on the right. I opted to only headbutt the Williams at the very beginning and just speed through the rest. I also took the safer approach by killing one of the Abobos so that I can safely headbutt the other.

I have done 4 passes on the Red Cave in practice once but I decided that my life could not take two stalactites so I exited after only 3 passes. Three passes is still pretty decent since this is where many of my runs come to an end.

The Blue Cave is pretty simple as long as I am avoiding hits by the Hulks. If all goes well I will headbutt the second set of Williams, and finish off with enough time to finish off the second Hulk. I always do two passes in the Blue Cave.

The Mountain side is simple. Headbutt the Linda, count them, there will be 8 of them, and only headbutt the last one 3 times, and then maneuver her to an edge. It takes only about 10 seconds or so to reach the bottom. Stopping at 15 and finishing off with a headbutt when Linda is stunned will be good.

Mission 4:
Using the new Wall Strategy I was able to avoid all problems. When I do a second pass in my sack pressing I have to walk up to the beginning of the second set of bricks to get the wall to activate. A minor adjustment but the same principle applies.

I opted to sack my men here because my goal is to reach the second set of chins. That way, when I start each man, I have 5 chins waiting for me. During my 3rd man I must make sure I have a bit of life left for the Rouper, because one jumpkick and its over. I leave about 30-20 seconds for the Rouper portion. If I grab and throw them quick enough I will have more than enough time.

I try to get at least 7 Williams with my head, more if possible depending on how much he jumpkicks me. An annoying random element. Once I kill the last one that I will with the headbutt then I will get ready for the final William. I maneuver him to the edge but some reason you only want to do the uppercut, so I jump kick him off and wait for him to come back up where I can do the 4 punch method until about 40-35 on the clock to account for worst case positions on the moving platforms.

Final Fight:

I once again do the Abobo safely. I knife the 2nd Chin after 13 headbutts. I then can go to the bottom where Gun Man shoots blanks. Then I leach Jimmy for as long as possible. The game over is deliberate for gaining more points.
