I cobbled together a controller input visualizer like the speedrunners use, out of an NES extension cable, a Teensy, and a voltage level converter. A bit of python reads controller state from the Teensy via USB and composites the controller visualization together using SVGs. OBS captures the video input, the visualization window, and lays them out together. This test was for trying to figure out what the ideal amount of delay to add on the viz window. 200ms seems just about right.

The game is Zelda 2. I decided to play until I got a game over. I was doing pretty well, but then the game said "no" in an extremely rude fashion.
