NES QUEST JUNE 2025 and GAMECUBE Game Boy PLAYER
🎮 NES Quest - June 2025 Update!
We’ve officially crossed the halfway mark in the quest to collect 100 NES games by the end of the year—sitting strong at 52/100! This episode is packed with wild pickups, obscure finds, and a bonus Game Boy Player segment featuring the one and only Son of Rad Chaser.

0:00 🧱 NES Pickups: June 2025
This month’s stack brings everything from arcade ports to licensed oddities—and even one unlicensed gold cart with a mind of its own. Let’s break it down:
2:40 🚗 RoadBlasters – Classic Atari arcade action. Gas up and blast through post-apocalyptic highways while your fuel gauge becomes your worst enemy.
3:33 🚀 Gradius – One of the defining side-scrolling shooters of the NES era. Power-up capsules, Moai heads, and that Konami crunch. Enough said.
4:15 📺 Tiny Toon Adventures: Cartoon Workshop – Make your own Tiny Toons cartoons? That’s right! This one lets you animate your own goofy sketches with the gang. Kind of a proto-Mario Paint vibe.
5:14 🎬 Darkman – Based on the Sam Raimi cult classic! Platforming, disguises, photo-taking—it’s weird and janky in all the right ways.
5:40 🎳 Championship Bowling – Surprisingly chill! Four playable characters and decent mechanics. NES sports games don’t get enough love.
7:10 🔓 Unlicensed Oddity: Quattro Adventure –
This T*ngen-style gold cart doesn’t count for the NES Quest, but it’s too strange to ignore. It features 4 full games:
• Boomerang Kid
• Dizzy the Adventurer
• Super Robin Hood
• Linus Spacehead
It also includes a lockout override circuit, letting it sneak past the NES security chip. Wild stuff from the unlicensed era!
10:18 🧠 Shadowgate – This one’s a point-and-click adventure masterpiece. Grim, cryptic, and full of death traps. Now that it’s officially in the stack, the NES Quest is looking way more mysterious.
11:54 🕹️ Bonus Segment: Game Boy Player Fun
Time to switch gears—literally.
18:10 Closing thoughts on the Game Boy player
The Son of Rad Chaser joins me for a CRT-flavored session with the Game Boy Player on the Nintendo GameCube. Of course, we’re using the official kiosk setup to make it extra crispy. Here’s what we dove into:
🌕 Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins – One of the greatest Game Boy titles ever. Wario makes his first appearance, and the level design is still so weird and imaginative.
🧪 Metroid Fusion – Tight controls, creepy storytelling, and some of the cleanest sprite work on the GBA. It looks phenomenal running through the GameCube, especially on a proper CRT setup.
We’re loving this format—NES pickups in the first half, handheld action in the second. Expect more of these crossover-style episodes going forward!
