I wanted to see how many points I could amass by pressing the first pass through the game. Since the amount of men that can be gathered is random and limited I decided that sacking men in order to maximize the potential for more ghosts to appear should be included. I really want to know if there are ways to manipulate how often the ghost comes out. If you have ever seen the speedrun on SDA, then you will note that the ghost is always avoided, which leads me to believe that there might be things that can be avoided to limit ghost reduction.

This run includes 4 occasions where the hidden special item yielded a X2 item which doubles points for a time, which is very lucky. A special item consists of things like the X2, but can also yield super speed, free guy, temporary invincibility, etc. Two of those times doubled the 5000 points you get for a diamond. On top of that I counted 24 ghosts, one of which was done during a double. Most of the time I was ranging from 260 - 270k, and so this run really makes it luck based to beat this score now. There is also a "randomizer" item that will give you one of the normal items and so if it yields a free man, then you can sack it for a potential ghost, or it might be a flare that can be used on the bat, or perhaps it will give you a coin or money bag. I did not assess my luck on the randomizer.

You will also notice that I spend time waiting before collecting the item that restores you time. This is done to maximize ghost potential. The more ghosts the higher the score. The longer I take on the first loop the greater the potential for more ghosts.

This also includes no intentional deaths! The controls are very touchy. Perhaps one day I will combine some of these elements to get more points on the first 4 passes of the game before the ghost gets faster on the 5th pass in a 5 lives setting run.

There are 10 randomizers, and I got: 2 extra men, 4 energizers, 1 bomb, 2 coins, and 1 bag.

What I did not do is wait by a randomizer and assume a possible energizer. If I am wrong, then that is ok because I will be sacking men anyways, but if it is an energizer then I get that much more time.
