What Netflix Changed About DC Comic's Sweet Tooth

Who else has been binge watching Sweet Tooth? This series, produced by Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, brings the world of the Sweet Tooth comic series to life. Today, we’re taking a look behind the scenes to see the similarities and differences of the show vs comics. The Sweet Tooth cast is filled with incredible actors that bring both humans and hybrids to life. After seeing how strong this first season was, we have no doubt a Sweet Tooth Season 2 will come soon as well!
The comics are much harsher than the Netflix series, but why the changes? The hope in toning down the harshness of the story for the movie and allowing it to be more of a fantasy than a horror was in part so it could appeal to a wider audience range. The hope was this could be a show that parents could watch with their own kids - considering how great the children actors are it makes sense! How is our leading hybrid human Gus different in the tv show? For starters, his origin story is totally different! How about his relationship with JEpperd? Thankfully, the Jepp we meet in the series is much more honest and kind, turning out to be a real ally for Gus to have as they journey in pursuit to find Gus’ mom. Speaking of that journey - in the movies it’s been made much shorter - by over 2500 miles!

Which group has a completely different role in the series than they did in the comics? Who is far less pure evil in the tv show? We’re covering all that and more!
