Growing up your parents probably told you that movies are just pretend. What about the times when they're not?
Just what are the lengths filmmakers are willing to go to when making your favorite film? The people in front of and behind the camera have proven that they are willing to do just about anything in order to add those authentic details to the film.
Sometimes it’s the A-list stars that are willing to go above and beyond such as Tom Cruise performing a halo jump or Jamie Lee Curtis learning guitar. Other times it’s the extras that give it their all just for a brief moment in the background. Even the animation team working on some of your favorite cartoons have shown their commitment.
Films and shows like I, Tonya, Elf, Grease, The Notebook, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Friends have featured scenes that weren’t actually fake. Sometimes these scenes were just happy accidents other times it was a creative choice. Regardless it all pays off in the end and even adds a little extra something to the project.
From shaving off your hair, eating gum off the streets of New York, giving hickeys, learning to ice skate, and even just building furniture, these are the movie moments when what happened on screen happened IRL.
