THEY VENTURE A FEW PACES OFF TRAIL AND THEN DIE (WHY WHY WHY: ALIENS OR UFOS?) NOPE NOPE NOPE: TREES IS ALL DIRECTIONS (LOSE ALL BEARING AND LOSE ALL SENSE OF DIRECTION. I believe the explanation as to what happened to Jim in Colorado. To put it bluntly and offensively: 1. He did not take navigational aids. 2. I believe he entered into an area with trees (in all directions) and became disoriented as the cause of the tragedy. 3. Jim was not taken by aliens or Big Foot (there are Black Bears), I think he walked past a tree line, got himself sourounded in ALL Directions with trees and got disoriented (hence the tragedy).
