New Custom Unit Shading
In our previous GFX update we shortly showed the difference between our old and new Custom Unit Shading (CUS).
In this video a bit better comparison between the old and new version.
As you can see, there is a lot more detail and effects added with CUS. There is:
• Real model deformation (based on damage)
• Scratched/scarred textures (based on damage)
• Alien Raptors get really bloody (based on damage)
• Fully dynamic / instant updates
• Extra highlights » Better shading with more contrast
• Full normal-mapping for a lot more details
Not showed here is the general performance gain this new system gives, which is absolutely enormous. We had an old-CUS system before, but this new CUS GL4 is 3-8 times(!) faster!
