This week I know a lot of people are going to be excited for Monster Hunter, however, for me the star is The Messenger. This Ninja Gaiden/Castlevania inspired game looks great, it looks like it combines the best out of the two games it draws inspiration from and just looks like something I'd love. At $19.99, I really wish it were a few dollars less expensive but it the gameplay and longevity is there I'll be there too.
Above and beyond Monster Hunter, which while not my sort of game but I do respect what it is bringing to the platform and those who love the series, and The Messenger which I think looks awesome, there's just not much here again. I am hoping as summer ends and the year winds down Nintendo winds up their releases and we start seeing more and more excellent titles and not, frankly, shovelware.
