Need for Speed Unbound (NFS Unbound) is a 2022 racing video game developed by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
In Lakeshore City, the game starts out with the Player (who’s appearance can change depending on your choice) refurbishing an old junker car from Rydells Rydes. A mechanic shop owned by Rydell, and where you and Yaz have been working at for the whole summer.
One night, after a couple races. You do a delivery mission only to find no car there, and Yaz not answering your calls, but the alarm went off at Rydells Rides. In a hurry and assuming the worst, the Player races back to Rydell’s Rydes to witness it being raided of all the cars Rydell was working on, and Yaz suspiciously drives away with your junker car.
Two years later, Rydell’s Rides have been struggling to remain open after the incident. The Player goes to a street race meet-up and meets Tess. Just then, Yaz shows up. Revealing that she is famed nowand was responsible for the resurgence of street racing in Lakeshore, and fixed up your junker car. She announces The Grand, a huge street race where the winner will receive her car as a reward. The Player also meets Tess. A better who guides you on your way to getting prepared for The Grand. She introduces her to Rydell who is at first hesitant, but then agrees to help the Player win The Grand.
The first week’s qualifier, and after winning it, The Player challenges Yaz to the pink slip in The Grand. Tess then records and exposes this plan to Rydell who becomes heartbroken hearing Yaz talking dirt behind his back.
After the third week however, Tess reveals her true colors, that Yaz was never involved in the heist and thus Tess was the one who orchestrated the raid along with Alec for their own benefit. Yaz reconciles with the Player and joins their side, and they continue to work their way up to The Grand. Once The Grand comes, they all wish each other luck as Tess make a a really huge bet.
The player wins The Grand and gets back their junker car. They return to Rydell’s Rides and reconcile. Now all being friends again, they prepare for more adventures to come.
