Niche- "Gene Experiment" Early Dec. Update (0.1.7)
19Niche is a genetic survival game revolving around (currently) unnamed creatures that you must breed beneficial traits in if your tribe is to survive.
In this newest update, the team is looking at whether or not to change how food is consumed by members of the tribe. One piece of food was traditionally eaten per action, although now each creature eats a piece of food at the end of each day. You can now also select the ranks of Alpha, Beta, and Omega for pack members. Wild creatures now have to be accepted into your tribe; they used to automatically join upon being discovered. The family tree, one of the goals reached in Niche's Kickstarter, has now been implemented. Genes relating to blood clotting have been added. Two bad genes gives a creature hemophilia. In addition to this, when an animal is attacked by a predator, it gets a "bleeding" ailment. It can use up an action to heal its wounds.
The dev team hopes to have another update out around the end of December.
